January 1st of the New 2020 year

January 1st of 2020


The 2020 year is here and I hope it is a great year for everyone. We can make this year great filled with progress and happiness!


Morning of the first came and I was awakened by my sister. It was about 9 am and it was time to get the day started. We had breakfast which consisted of an egg white omelette with veggies mixed in. We made sure to stay within a 400 calorie range for breakfast in order to stay within our daily goal of caloric intake. We proceeded to wildwood state park for a hike on the Santa Rosa trail.


Arriving at the park, it was super busy. I suppose everyone wanted to start the year off being active, and it was wonderful. Everyone sticking to a healthy routine and starting this year off right! We pressed on through the hike seeing amazing views of the mountains, valleys and the endless sky. It was pretty inspiring being out in nature and gaining a clear mindset for the day ahead. I was surrounded by cacti, it was so beautiful and surreal.

The air was so crisp, and there was no noises aside from birds chirping and grass rustling. It was as if we stepped away from the hectic city lives and got to experience true clarity for a bit. This helped to clear my mind, and become energized. I was not just burning calories and exercising, but I was mentally calming my mind simultaneously.


The hike ends at a road to a neighborhood, so we walked through the neighborhood to get back to the car. We passed by houses that were enormous, I wondered if it was large families living there or just a couple. I started to think about how much of a waste it would be if there was not an entire family living in these houses, as well as the environmental impact of these houses. I decided in that moment I would not have a need for such large lavish houses or material possessions, as we needed to live modestly and eco friendly if we want to care for this beautiful planet.

After arriving to the car we went back to my sisters house for lunch. We had grilled chicken with a salad. We continued with eating healthy in order for care for our health to progressively have a healthier lifestyle. Following lunch my sister had to head to work so I proceeded to start work and enjoy the rest of my day with this positive, clear, and energetic mindset I started the day off with. Remember to always keep that momentum going as even small accomplishments add up to big rewards.
